[Podcast] 3 More Rounds 06.11.09: Danny Garcia and Hector Camacho Jr.
Posted by Ryan Bates on 06.11.2009
We're joined this week by up and coming prospect Danny 'Swift' Garcia before he heads into his ESPN FNF debut on Friday while Hector Camacho Jr. drops in to talk fun times, wacky outfits, Gato Figueroa and proving himself once again. Plus we break down the heavyweight picture and this weekend's big fight between Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto.
On this week's edition of "3 More Rounds," Ramon and I check in with Danny "Swift" Garcia (12-0, 7 KOs), as he gets ready to make his television debut in San Jose, CA against Pavel Miranda (16-3, 8 KOs) on this week's ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. Danny keeps us posted on how he feels about coming on TV, what's really missing in the sport of boxing, Philly Cheesesteaks, and why MySpace's Tom threatened to kick him off the website! He even spits a li'l freestyle for our "3MR" listeners... RJJ, step off, the mic belongs to Swift!
Then get ready, because it's Macho Time! Hector Camacho Jr. (48-3-1, 27 KOs) comes on and lets it fly about rejuvenating his career, his party way, his reborn dedication to the sport, and what it's like trying to step out of Senior's shadow. He also tells us about his full wardrobe of trunks for various entrances, his affinity for wine and jazz (what?), his prediction for the NBA finals, and that yes, ladies, he's single. He also has some choice words for some key fighters out there, one of whom could breed a little 3MR feud! Who is it? You'll have to tune in and find out.
All this, PLUS the FNF main event between Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero and Efren Hinojosa, the big heavyweight mess and how John Ruiz fits in (he doesn't) and the big New York fight between Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey this Saturday on HBO!
It's "3 More Rounds" with me, Ryan Kaye and Ramon Aranda... it's as close as you can get to the fighters without getting knocked the f*** out!
